What an Aussie Day! It was an awesome feeling to perform with a full band line up again. Here is a clip of one of my latest songs called Dance Some More. I wrote this song whilst living and working in London. It had been a busy period of work and all I wanted to do was go out and dance! ..and dance we did! An absolutely essential part of life :) I enjoyed it so much I wrote a song about it :) enjoy!

Yesterday I had the privilege of performing at a great wedding. The groomsmen and groom arrived by helicopter which set the bar for the rest of the day. Everything was epic: the people, weather, venue, the DJ & atmosphere! I performed the aisle walk in song for the bride and items throughout the ceremony. Then some background tunes during the afternoon canapés & cocktails. I got to be the MC for the reception which was fun, and all of the speeches were fantastic! But by far the highlight for me was their bridal waltz. I prepared with a recording session to track some extra percussion, guitars & string swells which I then controlled through my effects pedal set up. Such a great moment! Congratulations Darryn & Alyse! You guys are real special people & it was a privilege to be part of your special day.
I don't know why I spent so long in the Wedding business and wasn't singing!! I love it! If you are planning your special day or know someone who is, get in touch! big love, Tay. www.tayplainmusic.com/weddings
The local music scene here in Wollongong is banging! So many great venues. I'm starting to find my favourites among them all and have 3 of my top venues booked this weekend! Hope to see some friendly locals again :) peace!
After an insanely enjoyable few weeks in the Greek Islands, I'm heading home to hit the local music scene hard.
With a whole lot of new originals & covered learned over my time in Greece, I feel like I have rediscovered a love for performing and I'm ready to get amongst it back home! Lots of shows coming up! It's been a nice break! being back home in Australia for a few months now i'm feeling recharged and will be heading over to Europe to perform for the month of September at Harmony, an amazing bar/restaurant on the island of Ios in Greece.
Great to see my home town getting amongst the nightlife vibes with the awesome Eat Street Food Market going strong. Will be playing here next week!
I have some super fond memories of dancing the night away at the place! And now they have invited me to perform for their live music nights. Keen as! Ive discovered a new like for Market folk! They are the friendliest people! I love the family vibe and performing in a place where the kids can get amongst it and have a dance (with the more freer of the adults!) some more markets shows coming up soon!
After my first show here a little while back, I decided I really like this litter bar! It's got character :) See you again in a couple of weeks!
After almost 2 years of travel and music across the UK & Europe, last night was my first show on home soil. It was such a great way to be welcomed home. I was lucky to open for the amazing LaBrassBanda from Germany on their world tour. Their first Australian show ever at The Oxford Art Factory in Sydney was a success thanks to all the amazing people who came along. Great to see some familiar faces!
My latest single 'Next To Me' is finally here! Available on iTunes and YouTube!
https://itunes.apple.com/au/album/next-to-me-single/id1174741293 ![]() I've had a few great moments when some rad artists like UB40, Good Charlotte & All Time Low have shared my and liked my posts! But then comes the sobering moment of realising the amazing friends that support me and like & share my stuff all the time! As an independent musician and performer it really means a lot when people support me on my journey! Thanks for the love friends! P.s. If you didn't know, I have a Twitter feed! :) You can check it out HERE London is full of opportunity that's for sure! When you gig hard, you have some good shows and not so good. But regardless of whether I find myself in a fancy new venue or an old dirty pub on the edge of extinction, when you put yourself out there in the world you meet people and opportunities find you. I was lucky enough to meet a great contact who put me in touch with London's premiere music venue, The O2 Arena. They have a fantastic VIP bar called the O2 Priority Lounge and for two of Adele's London shows on the 22nd of March and the 5th of April, I was lucky enough to perform for hundreds of Adele fans before she hit the main stage in the arena. It was such a fantastic experience and I was fortunate to meet hundreds of wonderful people who enjoyed my music. And received amazing tickets to see one of the best vocal performances I've ever witnessed. Two amazing nights I won't forget! More clips from the O2 Arena Priority Lounge on my Youtube channel.
You can now listen to my entire EP release 'Winter Cold' on Soundcloud! If you like it / want your own copy, you can purchase it buy clicking the buy link. That will really help me get my next release finished! Cheers guys!
Just a few days before... I was happily busking next to the Thames River sharing some sweet melodies and smiles with all the english folk passing by. A nice bloke named Art introduced himself and generously commented my music, he then asked if I would be part of his proposal to his beautiful partner Aliona. I could see in his eyes as he spoke that he was seriously in love with this girl and wanted the moment to be perfect. Of course I accepted and he filled me in on his plan for the following weekend :) Sunday November 1st 2015. As the video shows, whilst taking his lovely partner for a day out in London, he casually stops on the Golden Jubilee Bridge to admire the foggy London views over the Thames River. Little did the lovely Aliona know, a ferry boat was approaching full of what I can assume were friends and family holding up the sign with those enchanting words "Will You Marry Me?". Nice work Art, very nice work! and she said yes! :) As planned I shuffled over to serenade the newly engaged couple with his requested song, 'Magic' by Coldplay. As the crowds cheered for the lovers it hit me that these are the moments that make life special, moments that money can't buy. When you randomly find yourself on the other side of the world sharing in an unforgettable moment that shapes someone else's life for the better... Needless to say, I feel incredibly privileged to have been part of it! Thank you Art! And congratulations to you both! I hope & pray your future together is full of many more magic moments :) - Tay
It's been a great month in London! Things are starting to flow. I had a great first show at The Troubadour & a fun second show opening for Aussie legends Caravana Sun at Roadtrip & The Workshop in Shoreditch. Over the next 5 weeks I have another 4 gigs and will be in the recording studio finishing off EP #2! It is moments like these where I stop and realise how blessed we are in this life to be able to chase our passion & do the things we love. Feeling very grateful! :) Hope to see you soon!
Tay I met the guys from Caravãna Sun a couple of years back while touring in Australia with my band Chuparosa. We performed together at a fundraiser for the volunteer firemen in Sydney.
From the start I was impressed with these fellas, not only their great attitude & infectious positive vibes they exude to everyone they meet, but the quality of music & performance they brought that night blew me away. I hadn't danced so free and had that much fun in quite a while! Since that day we've crossed paths a handful of times as we both toured beautiful Australia taking our music to the people, and even got to share the stage again for Chuparosa's 3rd final show. Now here in the UK I'm blessed to be able to perform before these fellas bring their incredible live show in London this Saturday night Aug 8th, downstairs at The Workshop! Event hosted by Symptomatic Presents. More details on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/727049857424031 |
